China to USA Surge in Traffic Causes Rate Increase

The well-publicised trade wars have caused a heavy influx of shipments to the USA from China in particular, in attempts to beat newly raised tariffs on imports.

Vessels have become oversubscribed, and so has USA trucking which already had similar issues to the UK with a shortage of drivers and equipment.

The result? Increased freight rates....

Some lines have implemented increased rates already, half way through October but our negotiations have managed to postpone those until November 1st. New rates will be distributed shortly whilst the final figures are fixed.
